Visit an official photo spot. But don’t cross this flower line!
The Bulb District is delighted to welcome you to enjoy the beautiful flowering bulb fields. This colourful sea of flowers is a unique Dutch icon, and we appreciate that you are excited to capture the images of this stunning piece of nature. Of course this is possible, but there are a few rules we ask you to take in consideration
This campaign has been made possible thanks to the support of the Province of South Holland.
The flower fields may look like a dream, but they are also the workplace of dedicated growers. These fields are private property, and each flower plays a crucial role in the growing process.
Why is it important to stay out of the fields?
The Flower Line is the border between the public and privat space. It is a line you may not cross. Sometimes it is visibly marked by a line of tape. The Flower Line helps protect the flowers and bulbs. It ensures that everyone can enjoy the beauty of the flowers in a safe and responsible manner.
You may of course take photographs of the fields, but then from the edge of the field or from specially designated Photo Spots. These spots have been specifically allocated to give visitors the opportunity to take amazing images amongst the tulips without damaging the crops.

The flowering tulips above ground and the developing bulbs under the ground are the property of a grower. By putting the grower at the centre of this campaign we emphasise that the fields are not public areas, but privately owned. Together we ensure that this iconic floral splendour is preserved for future generations.
